I just want to answer a few questions on printing pictures. They don't come up that often, but I do want to give you the names of the most affordable and best quality print shops.
THE BEST PLACE TO PRINT PICTURES
The best place that we have found is Costco. The colors that they print for us are almost dead on with the colors that we see on our screen when we are editing. (And their prices are great!) However, Sam's Club is pretty close too! I think it's because these two places have really up-to-date equipment. It makes a huge difference. These guys can print within an hour if you take them in, and usually within 4 hours if submitted online
THE BEST PLACE TO GET PROFESSIONAL PRINTS
Allen's Camera in Provo/Orem/American Fork. I highly highly highly recommend printing anything 16x20 or larger through these guys. They offer mounted prints and lots of other options. They are definitely a custom print shop that does a great job. Allow yourself 2-4 days lead time with them
WHEN SUBMITTING PICTURES ONLINE TO PRINT- Be Careful!!
Each picture has a quality/size. When you upload them online (or send them in email) it alters the size to be a lower quality and to be more grainy. However! If you are uploading to a good printing place, they will allow you the option to upload in full resolution, which means you are able to print your prints bigger, without having them be grainy, because they will maintain the quality. If you have more questions on this, please call Christy at 801-655-3898
PICTURES THAT HAVE RED
*Please Note* Red is a tricky color to print. Some places have an auto correction that makes the red too intense, or sometimes they just print it too loudly, even with it off. This has to do with the fact that their equipment is probably not as current or calibrated correctly. 2 places that I DO NOT RECOMMEND getting pictures with RED in them printed are: Macey's, and Walmart.
AUTO-CORRECTION
Also, with any printer, if you have the ability to turn auto correction off, please do so. We spend lots of time on the edits making sure the color is vibrant, and the lighting is perfect. Auto correction can change colors and changing lighting making it too harsh, and can even ruin how the picture looks, though that's not the intent.
ORDERING PRINTS THROUGH CHEAPSHOTS!
We allow you to order online through us by going to http://cheapshotsllc.instaproofs.com. You'll type in your first or last name in the search to find your shoot. Here, you are able to select your sizes. Your prices are set to default to be a lower price, for a 2-tier print shop, meaning not as good as "Professional" but definitely better than Wal-Mart, Sam's, Macey's etc. When we submit pictures for you, we GUARANTEE the color, cropping, and lighting, because we have control over the situation. We can Print VERY PROFESSIONAL pictures as well, which like I said, I recommend for any enlargements. You can order these online as well, we would just need to switch the pricing to be professional (call Christy at 801-655-3898 to do this) For these we physically go in and meet with the pro-printer and explain how we want EVERY single picture. It's a lot of work, but the enlargements come out absolutely amazing every time, and it's 100% guarantee you're going to like them.
LAST BUT NOT LEAST
If you are ordering pictures through us, we generally submit the order on a Friday, and have them within a week. If you want to do a mixture of Tier-2 (Basic) and Professional prints, you can email your order to us. All we need is the picture number, and what sizes you want right below it, and whether they are professional (P) or Basic (B)
Thanks again you guys! If you have any questions on printing, feel free to call/text me on my cell
